The Society of Archivists, renamed the Archives and Records Association in 2010, is the recognised professional body in Great Britain and Ireland for archivists, records managers and archive conservators. The ARAI -- a constituent region of the larger society -- is committed to working to achieve high standards in the management and care of records and archives and the continued professional development of its members in Ireland.

RMS Ireland

The Records Management Society, Ireland is the foremost professional organisation for all those who work in or are concerned with records or information management, regardless of their professional or organisational status or qualifications.

The Irish Society for Archives

The Irish Society for Archives exists to promote the place of archives in Irish society. It publishes Irish Archives annually, a bi-annual newsletter and organises lectures on topics of interest and concern to archivists, the users of archives and the wider public. The ISA now also has a website, kindly hosted by the Archives Department, UCD.

UCD Archives Department

The Archives Department of University College Dublin is at present the only provider of professional training in Archival Science, which covers both archives and records management, in Ireland.
